This course is designed for owners of hand held outdoor GPS units. It's is not suitable for owners of most in built or street navigator (voice) units.

For GPS Navigation course please bring:

	Sunscreen
	Good walking shoes
	GPS, any brand
	Any maps that you may want to talk about, topographic, marine charts, touring etc
	Note paper, pens, pencil, rubber
	Laptop and software (again don't buy one if you don't have one) - must have for the OziExplorer course
	Lunch, although there are plenty of take away places nearby.
	Sense of humour.

First hour:

	Theory of GPS (not heavy!)
	Review of navigation techniques, grid references, datums, projections
	Practical uses, impractical uses
	Terms and definitions
	Features and functions

Second hour:

	Practical exercises in nearby parkland. Walking only, no vehicle exercises
	Recap/answers of practical exercises, lots of discussion I'm sure!

Lunch Break:

Optional vehicle exercise to buy lunch!

Third hour:

	Advanced uses of GPS
	Trip planning
	Tips and tricks for getting the most out of your GPS

Fourth hour:

More practical exercises

Last hour:

	Review of practical exercises and more discussion!
	Demo of the latest software available
	Installation ideas
	Anything else you want to talk about.

We always plan to have a fun and relaxed day and to impart some practical knowledge we have learned along the way.

	Laptop
	Licensed copy of OziExplorer
	GPS
	Any CD based maps that you may want to use with OziExplorer, topographic, marine charts, touring etc

What I learned about GPS principles & use, setting waypoints, routes etc., as well as map reading conventions exceeded my expectations for a one day session. I know there is much more to learn, but this tool is of much greater use to me now.

Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed being in your classroom last Saturday.

For years I have wanted to understand how to read maps, and also how to use my GPS effectively since I purchased it from you in 2004.

I get so excited when I am learning, because it all makes sense when learning experientially instead of "Doh!" syndrome.

I was so impressed with the Ozzi Explorer CD. I got lost in Morten State Forest for 4 hours one Sunday afternoon in 2000. It was the Braidwood Road (near Nerriga) part of the forest, and I was looking at the relentless undulating hills on Brian's screen and consider myself very fortunate to have found my way out.

I will be getting in touch with you in September to update my Garmin maps, and have added OziExplorer to my wish list!

My heartfelt thanks to both Brian and Neil, I had such a great day and am appreciative of the professionalism you all bring to your business.
