Many people have asked, "I have bought multiple states in the MapSend State Series, so how can I combine them into a single directory for searching, use all the more detailed maps available and create a single region across multiple states?"

Here's the answer:

Lets assume you have purchased both Vic and NSW products and that you have decided that Victoria will be your primary data folder.

Install both products from their CD's making sure you have selected the "FULL" option.

By default the Vic files will be installed in C:\Program Files\Magellan\MapSend S&D Australia - VIC and NSW in: C:\Program Files\Magellan\MapSend S&D Australia - NSW

Locate the file C:\Program Files\Magellan\MapSend S&D Australia - VIC\data\fips.ini and using notepad add the line:
82; NSW; New South Wales;
87; VIC; Victoria;                         <<<<<<<<<<< this should already be there.

Locate the file C:\Program Files\Magellan\MapSend S&D Australia - VIC\map\map.ini and again using notepad Add the "1=" line :

[ADD_MAPS_REF]
0 = \Street_VIC\map.ini                 <<<<<<<<<<< this should already be there.
1 = \Street_NSW\map.ini

Copy the folder and all its files C:\Program Files\Magellan\MapSend S&D Australia - NSW\street_nsw to C:\Program Files\Magellan\MapSend S&D Australia - VIC\Map\
There should already be a \street_vic\  folder there as well.

Now using MapSend Streets Vic you should be able to see all street level detail of Victoria and NSW and also search for streets and other POI in both states.

For those with all seven states, the magic numbers in the fips.ini file are

82; NSW; New South Wales;
83; NT; Northern Territory;
84; QLD; Queensland;
85; SA; South Australia;
86; TAS; Tasmaina;
87; VIC; Victoria;
99; WA; Western Australia;

and the map.ini file should look like:

0 = \Street_NSW\map.ini
1 = \Street_QLD\map.ini
2 = \Street_VIC\map.ini
3 = \Street_WA\map.ini
4 = \Street_SA\map.ini
5 = \Street_NT\map.ini
6 = \Street_TAS\map.ini
